Today, Filipino families pay tribute to one of the special persons in their lives, the Grandparents. Everyone of us is a grandchild and can be part of this event. This is the appropriate chance to remember past family events, take a look at old family albums and recall the memories that our families had. Now is the perfect time to bridge the gap and improve communication among the generations.

Some families celebrate this day through small gatherings, family reunions, or just having some fun with the family members. For most elders, just the thought of remembering them and paying homage for the persons who were the roots of our family means a lot to them. Talents and special interests can be passed on to the next generation. In this way, children were given the chance to know their family history and learn the ancestral line of the family. Celebration of this day is a proof of our strong family ties and our love and respect for elders.
